Women's Competitive Programs

At Aim High, young girls can begin competitive gymnastics at age five. Each team program, as described below, is carefully designed and structured to meet the unique needs and skills of each gymnast.

Aim High has teams that compete on a local, regional and national level. As your daughter grows and develops, you can be assured that Aim High Academy has the depth, skills and experience to bring her to her full potential.

Prep-Team
Ages 4 & up
Prep-Team is a beginner pre team that trains two times per week for 1 ½ hours each time and has a year round commitment. Our certified coaches employ safe and positive methods of gymnastics instruction in accordance with USA Gymnastics level 2 guidelines. Children improve their gymnastics skills, strength and flexibility on an individual basis. Gymnasts must be recommended to this class by their class instructor or evaluated by a coach. No walk in enrollment. Each athlete will either track through the Xcel Program or the Developmental Program as they progress.

Developmental
Aim High's Developmental Team requires complete commitment. This includes all level 2 – 10 athletes, Hopes/Elite. Gymnasts must compete on a local, regional and national level. Gymnasts also commit to year round training and all competitions unless otherwise stated. All four events are trained, vault, bars, beam and floor exercise. Athletes also have conditioning, strength training, flexibility and cardio training. Workout times vary based on the level of the athletes and all workouts are considered mandatory.

Xcel Team
Aim High's Xcel team athletes compete at all USA Gymnastics sanctioned competitions. They compete on a local, regional and national level. This includes all Silver – Diamond level athletes. Year round training is recommended. Athletes have the ability to choose the hours of training and the number of competitions that they compete during the season with a minimum of three. Workout times vary and range from six hours to nine hours.

Men's Competitive Programs

At Aim High, young boys can begin competitive gymnastics at age five. Each team program is carefully designed and structured to meet the unique needs and skills of each group and phase of the sport. Aim High has teams that compete on the state, regional and national team level. So, as your child grows and develops, you can be assured that Aim High Academy has the depth, skills and experience to bring your child to their highest level.

 

Boys Compulsories, Levels 3-6

Ages 5-14 Years

The gymnasts will compete in compulsory routines on all six events of men’s gymnastics. These routines are a pre-choreographed series of skills that each competitor must perform. Level 3 is the first level of Men’s Competitive gymnastics; boys can compete in this track beginning at age 5. Level 6 is the graduation year for compulsories as a gymnast will transfer into the Optional levels of gymnastics starting at level 6. Competitions will be within RI and the Northeast, traveling to meets outside the region is also offered as an option. Boys will train anywhere from four to twelve hours

per week depending on their competitive level. Gymnasts will also have the opportunity to qualify for state and regional championships.

 

Boys Optional, Levels 7-10

Ages 11-19 Years

Gymnasts in the optional levels are highly motivated and dedicated to the sport of gymnastics. Gymnasts must demonstrate a great deal of self-discipline and mental strength. Routines are created in alignment with their ability and skill level following USAG and FIG rules. Competitions take place at the state, regional and national levels. Depending upon their competitive level, boys will train anywhere from twelve to twenty hours per week. In addition, gymnasts have the opportunity to qualify for State, Regional and Easterns/National championships.

 

Boys Elite, Levels 6, 8-10

Ages 10-19 Years

The Elite Track is a program designed to develop and train athletes for the highest level of the sport. The Elite Program consists of specific compulsory routines, for each specific age group. This program is for athletes to start their path directed to international competition. Athletes will add a second day of competition with a different set of routines to be added to their scores (Compulsory routine + Optional routine). Elite track athletes can compete at 10/11 years old for level 6, 12/13 years old for level 8, 14/15 years old for level 9 or 16 - 19 years old level 10. Elite gymnasts will be selected and invited to join the program by the Aim High coaching staff and will have extra training hours.
